Save the Date: Vineyard

Here is a wonderful concept for a save the date, as requested by Etsy customer Renette. I loved designing this! Her wedding is in Cape Town, South Africa in a gorgeous vineyard. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that wedding! I can only imagine how beautiful it will be.

Double Happiness.

I recently designed a custom save the date for Eugenie and Alex! Alex is Chinese so Eugenie wanted to incorporate Chinese elements in to the design: red, pink, and the double happiness symbol in the back. I think I'm going to put this on my Etsy listings - check it soon!

Ikea vs. Charley

Ikea napkins.

Charley Harper.

I love Ikea napkins. Every time I take a little trip there, I get a pack of the latest graphic design-y ones. Upon my last excursion, I locked my eyes upon these Charley Harper-esque bunch and I immediately dropped them in my cart without a second thought.

Charley Harper is one of my favourite artists. What better way to honour him than to wipe the spaghetti sauce off my face with something that is inspired by him? HA. I do intend to purchase his ABC's book and 123's book for my son. And, when we move and Finn actually has a room of his own, I hope to have a Charley Harper poster hanging in his room.

Check out more Charley Harper designs here! You'll love him too!

Juicy.

A little girl called Loveia (luv-ay-ah) could only deserve the most stylin' of shower invitations. (Does the fact that I used the word 'stylin' mean I'm lame? Perhaps I should have used 'skookum') Her mama is definitely one modern girl. When making the invitation, the girl who is throwing the shower told me to "think of Juicy Couture". So I Googled Juicy Couture (I am making myself sound extremely cool) and just based it on the colour, font, and banners. Bam, this is what happened. Juicy.

Back at 'Er

I closed my Etsy shop for quite some time when I got pregnant and had a child. I suppose I just wanted to have a well-deserved break from work at all angles. Now that Finn is eight months old, I'm itching it get back and design and interact with people all over the place! So with that being said, please check out the Little Sparrow shop on Etsy! Perhaps there is something there that catches your eye. Well, if you're getting married. I'll be working on some baby stuff in the near future! Can't wait!

A Pirates Day

Check out this pirate themed birthday party invitation! Made for a friend who's dear boy is turning the big 1 next month, she requested a pirate theme, but no skull and crossbones. No problemo. Pirates don't have to be the swashbuckling, toothless, ruthless thieving scalawags they truly are, right??
